Tony Dinse

Behavioral Specialist

My name is Mr. Tony (AKA Mr.T), and this year I have the absolute pleasure of serving this school in the manner of a Behavioral Specialist. This means I get to help the kids of Channing Hall by keeping them motivated to learn, as well as teach needed life skills. You will see me in the classrooms promoting a safe environment to ensure that ALL students have a fair opportunity to learn. No one child learns the same way, and I am here to help figure out which ways are effective for each child. You may also see me in meetings to help provide another support, other than the fantastic Social Worker, to help make the transition into the school year a little easier.

To tell you a little about myself, I am 6”7’ feet tall.  I really enjoy being active and playing games and sports. I love the Green Bay Packers and am a huge fan of any and all things funny.  I moved from Connecticut about 7 years ago to pursue my academic career in Social Work. I was able to obtain my Associate in Social Science, and then continue my education and receive my Bachelors of Social Work (BSW). Last year, I worked at Channing Hall, with the MTSS group as an aide in the classrooms and at recess. I really enjoyed working with kids and helping them through the school year in that capacity, but  was really excited to be offered a position here to support full time.

The most important thing to know about me in my new position is if I happen to work with your student, it 100% DOES NOT mean they are a bad kid. We don't have bad kids here at Channing Hall. All it means is that maybe your child might need a break from class, or even just want to have a few minutes just to talk. It could also mean that they just need someone to play with at recess or just need to hear a corny joke of mine. I.E  WHAT DO YOU SAY TO  A RABBIT ON IT”S BIRTHDAY  ANSWER: HOPPY BIRTHDAY.
