Do you keep a waiting list?
After our lottery drawing in February, Channing Hall will create a waiting list. The school cannot provide you with an exact placement on the waiting list because the list may change slightly from day to day. Changes occur as students accept open spots and their siblings become eligible for placement. However, we will try to provide a general idea of your placement when we call or email after the initial drawing.
How do we update our contact info in the lottery system?
Simply update your information in the application app. Please remember to make a note of your user name and password so that you can re-enter the site.
What is the “Teacher/Sibling Priority List”?
Channing Hall teachers and the siblings of current students are given priority for open seats, as allowed by Utah law. Please be aware that it is the policy of the school not to publish or confirm a student’s placement number on the sibling priority list. Siblings of current Channing Hall students who withdraw from the school will be removed from the priority list and entered into the general lottery pool.
My child already attends; do we need to register for the lottery again?
Current students who wish to return to Channing Hall must complete a simple online re-enrollment form in the spring. Once the form is completed, no permanent records will be forwarded to another school unless Channing Hall receives written notification of a student’s intent to withdraw.
We filled out an application last year; do we have to do it again?
Yes. Channing Hall is required to purge application lists from earlier school years.
How will we know if we have been selected in a lottery?
You will be contacted via email or phone. It is very important to ensure the contact information on your application is current, and to respond in a timely manner to a placement offer. If you do not respond by the set deadline, Channing Hall will offer the placement to another student on the waiting list.
We were selected in a previous lottery but did not accept enrollment. Do we have priority to attend now?
There is no preference for students who previously declined a spot. You must re-register for the lottery and your application will be entered into the general lottery pool.
We would like to attend Channing Hall right now, even though school has begun. Can we enroll?
Please contact the school to see if there are any spots open.
Does Channing Hall provide transporation before or after school?
Channing Hall does not provide busing. However, there are a number of private programs that may provide transportation and child care before and/or after school, including AMYS Martial Arts, Discovery Bay, Kindercare Draper, Previous People Daycare, and Skool Days.
